AGIOS IOANNIS RENTIS REST OF PIRAEUS

Agios Ioannis Rentis is a suburb of Piraeus of special value due to its location and character. Specifically, it is divided into two zones, the residential and the industrial. The second occupies the largest part of it. The residential zone is quite densely populated, since in the industrial one there are no houses. Most of the houses are located in its southern part, on the border with Neo Faliro. There are the two large squares, of Eleftherios Venizelos and Agios Ioannis Rentis, the town hall and the cafes, as well as Public Merchant Marine Schools. The industrial zone is formed by factories, large companies, industries and a huge market. Rentis landmarks are the huge Vegetable Market or Central Market that covers about 60 acres and the two major entertainment centers, Village Park and Allou Fun Park. The reason that the large vegetable market was established there many years ago is the key location of the area, as it passes through various central arteries of Athens. Petrou Ralli Avenue, Thivon Street, Athens-Lamia National Road, Kifissou Avenue and Piraeus Street. The access is easy with bus lines but also through the train station of the same name (ISAP).
