ATHENS (COMMERCIAL TRIANGLE- PLAKA) ATHENS (COMMERCIAL TRIANGLE- PLAKA)

Commercial Triangle is the area of the center of Athens that is surrounded by Stadiou, Mitropoleos and Athinas main arteries. It is called a triangle due to the imaginary shape created by the union of the three peaks, Syntagma Square, Monastiraki and Omonia.

The designation "commercial" comes from the nature of the properties that make up the area and specifically the fact that there are mainly commercial buildings, offices and shops while there are no residences. Many activities, both executive and commercial, are concentrated in this core since there are important buildings of banks, services, the new Parliament, offices of giant companies, but also numerous stores of large or small reputation, wholesale or retail, handicrafts, small businesses and stores of large multinational chains. In fact, some of the buildings, such as the old Parliament, the City Hall, the Metropolis give also historical importance to the area. It is therefore a crossroads in trade and investment, affecting the value of real estate accordingly.
